Takes a little time but it is delicious!
Ingredients:
1lb pork butt or pork shoulder, cut into bite size pieces. ( I use any cheap pork)
1 bell pepper, cut into triangles
1 small onion, quartered
1 small can pineapple
Marinade:
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon Shaoxing wine
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Batter:
1 egg white
1/2 Cup corn starch
2 Tablespoon flour
1/3 Cup water
Directions:
Mix the pork pieces with soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, baking soda, and white pepper. Let marinate for at least 15 min.
In a bowl, add egg white, cornstarch, flour, and water, mix until you achieve a wet, paint like batter consistency. adjust
with water if needed
Add pork pieces into batter.
Fry the battered pork in batches for about 7-8 minutes (350 F) Let pork rest for at least 10 minutes.
Finish frying all the pork. Double fry all the pieces at (375 F) set aside to cool on a wire rack.
In a separate pan, stir fry the onion, bell pepper, and pineapple until soft and tender (3-5 min) set aside.
Sauce:
1/2 Cup white sugar
1/2 Cup water
1/4 Cup white vinegar
2 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 Tablespoon Ketchup
Directions:
In a small pot combine all the ingredients
Bring to a boil and stir continuously until mixture has thickened.
In a separate bowl, combine pork, stir fry, and sauce, toss until everything is coated and sprinkle sesame seed.
